Bookies are currently giving him slightly over 2/3 chance of winning against slightly under 1/3 for Ed Miliband, with the rest lost in the noise.

It's a stage they have to go through. They can't get over New Labour without putting forward an Old New Labour loyalist to fail first. This is needed before they can unstick themselves. I suspect whoever wins this won't last until next election.
